About Laffster

Laffster is changing the way the funniest performers (comedians, writers, and YouTubers) reach, invigorate, and interact with their biggest fans around the world through unique online live experiences. Maybe they’ll walk you through how they wrote last night’s show, maybe they’ll show you how to cook their favorite meal, or maybe they’ll just answer anything you want to ask. Who knows what will happen. We just know it will be funny.

Based in Santa Monica, CA, Laffster was built with one goal: to modernize how people laugh online. The company has worked to achieve this through mobile apps as well as a Facebook-connected video discovery platform. Laffster was launched out of MuckerLab in Santa Monica and is funded by Greylock Partners (Pandora, LinkedIn, Facebook), Adam Nash (LinkedIn), Chris Williams (Maker Studios), Howard Lindzon (StockTwits), and the talent agency Paradigm Entertainment.

Dan AltmannFounder
Dan is “El Capitan” here at Laffster. When he’s not calling the shots, he’s playing a game he calls “squash.” His experience includes advertising strategy at IAC (CollegeHumor, Citysearch, etc.) and Warner Brothers. Dan’s a founding fiend: in 2008, while earning his BA at USC, he also founded YPO @ University to connect students with local executives. The program was funded by YPO and spread to 40+ schools worldwide.
Eric PosenFounder
Head of Product
Eric is the guy who makes sure the product is awesome and has the features you want (if it doesn’t, let him know!). He once made a viral video and he's really proud of it (ask him which one and he will send it to you). Eric used to build stellar teams for some of the hottest tech companies in the world including Tagged, Fan.tv and Reputation.com and studied in the Technology Management Program while at UCSB.
Rodney Koch

Ed is our UI/UX Lead, which is a fancy way to say he makes sure everything looks pretty and is easy to use. Ed proudly dropped out of USC's Computer Science Masters Program (after graduating from a top undergraduate engineering program in Mexico) to build cool stuff in the mobile space where he sharpened his UX skills for tablets, desktop and all mobile devices for more than 4 years.
Caroline Creaghead
